Today, you will take an international flight to  Luang Prabang.

Your local guide will welcome you at Luang Prabang International airport. Private transfer to your hotel, where a welcome drink will be served.

Check in and make yourself comfortable in your room.

If time permitting orientation tour of the town by Tuk Tuk.

Drive to Kuangsi Falls. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, take a swim or just relax nearby the clear pools of tiered limestone formations.

Lunch Picnic at the water fall.

Return to Luang Prabang. Visit the butterfly farm to discover exotic butterflies from Laos (best during green season– less butterflies during dry season)

Visit the colourful Traditional Art & Ethnology Centre (TAEC, Monday closed), featuring several ethnicities of Laos. Climb up Phousi Hill for a panoramic view of the city and the Mekong River.

Leave Luang Prabang for a drive of half an hour to the starting point of your kayak adventure on the banks of the Nam Khan, at the village of Ban Mout.

Basic kayak instructions will be carried out by your experienced guide before heading down the river. It takes 2 hours to the first break, at the Tad Sae Waterfall. Its limestone cascades with florescent turquoise pools between the trees offer a stunning sight.

After a picnic lunch, there is time for swimming at Tad Sae. You will continue paddling though beautiful landscape around 2 ½ hours until reaching the Tomb of 19th century French Explorer, Henri Mouhot, a natural scientist was the first European to rediscover Angkor Wat and travelled all the way to Luang Prabang.

A last stop (optional) on the way back to Luang Prabang can be made at a traditional weaving village of Ban Phanom.

Embark on a traditional boat to Kamu Lodge, a jungle camp set with 20 safari style tents, on the banks of the Mekong, two hours from Luang Prabang.

On the way stop at Pakou Caves near Luang Prabang.

Arrive at Kamu lodge at noon, check in in your tent and take lunch in the middle of the rice fields.

Kamu Lodge is offering a deliberate retreat from comforts of modern life. Leaving behind WiFi, satellite television, or even an unlimited flow of electricity Kamu Lodge is a private eco-lodge engaged with low-impact travel, seeking for a balance between tourism and conservation of local culture and ethnic heritage. Up to 24 months old, sharing twin room with 2 adults:

  • Free of charge, sharing bed with adults
  • Crib upon request, rate to be determined on a case-by-case basis
  • Extra bed rates upon request 02-12 years, sharing twin room with 2 adults:
  • 25% discount with extra bed and breakfast
  • 50% discount without extra bed and without breakfast



  • Maximum 4 children are allowed at reduced rates, per party.
  • We advise to only allow children who are 8 and above to do the Kayak activity (in the same kayak with at least 1 parent).
  • As for Kamu Lodge, that would be a great and unique experience for any age.



Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure. Thomas Cook China reserves the right to release all services in case of payment default.


Cancellation Policy

If any cancellation is received following a booking, the following general cancellation policy will apply:

  • Between 46 days prior to arrival : 20% of total amount is due
  • Between 45 and 31 days prior to arrival : 50% of total amount is due
  • Between 30 days and 1 day prior to arrival: 100% of total amount is due
  • 1 day or No-show: 100% of total amount is due


Force Majeure

Thomas Cook China will not be liable for performance delays or for non-performance, due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, actions by any government authority (whether valid or invalid), fires, floods, windstorms, riots, explosions, natural disasters, wars, sabotage, labor problems (including lockouts, strikes and slowdowns), or court injunction or order.

  • Please make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your departure date and has a minimum of 2 blank pages available for visa and stamps.
