D1Arrival in Kathmandu

Our office representative will welcome you at Kathmandu airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel in Thamel, check and meet your tour leader.

After breakfast at hotel, your tour guide will pick you up from the hotel for a Kathmandu city tour. You will go to several medieval and spiritual sites which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites including the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, the Hindu god temple of Pashupati Nath and cremation place of Hindus which is on the bank of the Holy River called Bagmati, the famous Hindus and Buddhist shrine ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and one of the biggest stupa in Asia, BouddhaNath.

Later in the day, you will meet your trekking guide who will supply you with necessary equipment (e.g. duffle bag, sleeping bag, down jacket etc.) as agreed prior to your departure.

D3Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu

After breakfast in the hotel at the capital city, you will head on a six to seven hours bus drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Pokhara, located at an altitude of 910 meters, will surprise you with its brilliant mountains views reflected in the blue water of the lakes.

D4Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Thike Dhunga

Today, you will begin your trekking. After a drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, you will trek for about 4 hours along the easy trail to Tikhe Dhunga. The rough road passes through nice settlement villages, along the banks of the river and within forests.

D5Trek to Ghorepani

After breakfast, you will trek to Ghorepaani (2850m). You will first hike uphill for around 2 hours to reach Ulleri village (2050m), which is located 3000 steps away from Thike Dhunga. Then, you will continue to walk through a tropical forest covered with rhododendron, oak and other wild flowers.

D6Hike Poonhill and Trek to Tadapani

Today will be one of the most memorable of your trek. Very early in the morning, you will trek to Poonhill to observe the sunrise above the snow-capped mountains. Poonhill is one of the best view points in Nepal. Located at 3210 meters, it shows spectacular views of all mountains of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail). After hours of observation, wondering and taking pictures, you will go back to Guest House for breakfast and packing. You will then go to Tadapani (26850m) via Deurali and Banthanti. During the walk, you will see mountains and walk through the rain forest.

D7Trek to Ghandruk

From Tadapani, the trail descends through forests to Ghandruk, a village of Gurung people, one of the ethnic groups of Nepal. They have their own dialect, culture, costumes, and lifestyle. You will reach Ghandruk by lunch time and after lunch, you will go to explore Ghandruk village and museum.

D8Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

After enjoying the morning views during your breakfast, you descend down to Syauli Bazaar and follow the road all the way to Nayapul where our trekking ends. There, you will hop on the vehicle which will take you back to Pokhara.

D9Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus

Today, you will drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist bus.

D10Final Departure

Today you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport in time for your flight home.

Note: The tour runs year round but March to May and September to December is the best time to do this trek mainly due to weather conditions.

Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure. Thomas Cook China reserves the right to release all services in case of payment default.


Cancellation Policy

If any cancellation is received following a booking, the following general cancellation policy will apply:

  • Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival : 20% of total amount is due
  • Between 20 and 7 days prior to arrival : 50% of total amount is due
  • Between 6 days and 2 day prior to arrival: 75% of total amount is due
  • 1 day or No-show: 100% of total amount is due

Force Majeure

Thomas Cook China will not be liable for performance delays or for non-performance, due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, actions by any government authority (whether valid or invalid), fires, floods, windstorms, riots, explosions, natural disasters, wars, sabotage, labor problems (including lockouts, strikes and slowdowns), or court injunction or order.

  • Please make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months after your departure date and has a minimum of 2 blank pages available for visa and stamps.
