D1Moscow - Arrival

Arrive in Moscow by flight - we can also arrange these for you.
Upon arrival, be met by your English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.  
In Moscow, discover the metro also referred to as “Underground Palace”. It opened in 1935 and is the 4th busiest in the world. Commissioned under Stalin’s rule, each station was built to be like a palace for the people, looking as luxurious as it possibly could. It includes reflective marble walls, extravagant chandeliers and high ceilings.

Afternoon is free at leisure to observe the Russian lifestyle on Arbat Street. Often called "Old Arbat", this is one of the oldest roads in the city and was first mentioned as early as 1493. In the 18th century, Arbat became a popular place for Moscow's intelligentsia and artistic community. Nowadays, it keeps an arty ambience with cafés, restaurants, street artists, and souvenir shops.

In the evening, dine at one of the most luxurious restaurants in the world, Turandot. It took 6 years and costed over 10 billion to build. Former Russian Presidents, Gorbachev and Putin, have enjoyed meals at Turandot.

Today, visit one of Russia’s landmarks: “St Basil's Cathedral”. This is one of the most beautiful Russian Orthodox monuments. It is famous for its fairy tale like appearance mixed with bright colours, patterns and shapes. It is an attraction you definitely cannot miss when you travel to Russia. Next to it is the eye catching “National History Museum”. In Red Square, you will also see the “Kremlin”, “Lenin's Mausoleum”, “The Resurrection Gate”, “Manezh Square”, and “Alexander Gardens” and have a wonderful cultural experience of Moscow.

After your visit of Moscow’s landmarks, ”--- you will have free time here to explore the Gum Department Store. This neo-classical building was designed by the famous architect Aleksander Pomerantsev. With its rich history and world-class stores, it has become one of the most luxurious department stores in this world.

The Leo Tolstoy Museum in Moscow. During the time he stayed here, he wrote two master pieces. Walking in this his house museum, you will be able to experience the peace and beauty of Russia's countryside.

Today, in the morning, you will travel to Sergiyev Posad, one of the golden circle cities. Sergiev Posad, in the suburbs of Moscow, is home to the medieval Trinity Monastery of St. Sergei, a historic centre of the Russian Orthodox Church. Here you will experience the History of old Russia.

The best way to understand Russian culture and lifestyle is through the arts and gastronomy. First, learn about the art of making Russian Dolls. You will even have a chance to make your own personalised Russian Doll, a perfect souvenir of your trip. Second, discover the secret of Russia’s national wine: Vodka. According to statistics, each Russian drinks on average 67 bottles of vodka per year. Experience the Russian way of life by drinking vodka whilst eating caviar. Finally, you will attend a  world-famous Circus Show.

D4Moscow-Klin-Moscow

In the morning, head to Klin and visit Tchaikovsky House Museum where Tchaikovsky used to live from 1892 until his death in 1893. Tchaikovsky is one of the great composers of the 19th century. He created many well-known shows and musicals such as “Swan Lake”, “Sleeping Beauty” and “The Nutcracker” etc. His last major work, the 6th Symphony, was written here.

After coming back to Moscow, you will have some free time to enjoy the city. You could choose to do some shopping or sit at a café and enjoy the Russian way of life.

D5Moscow- St. Petersburg

Today, you will take a high speed train (Sapsan) to St. Petersburg also called “Northern Venice". Upon arrival, be met by your Englisn speaking guide and transfer to your hotel.

The St. Petersburg tour begins at Dostoevsky Memorial Museum first. Dostoevsky is one of 19th century Russian literary stars. From 1864 to 1867, he and his wife Anna lived together in this building. At that time, he wrote his two master pieces "Crime and Punishment" and "Gambler". Here you can discover the origin of his inspiration and his life.

D6St. Petersburg

Today, enjoy a Hydrofoil ride to Peterhof Palace. Known as the "Russian Versailles", Peterhof Palace, has a magnificent architecture and beautiful gardens. It was listed by UNESCO on the "World Heritage List". 

Afterwards, visit the Catherin Palace, located at Tsarskoe Selo in Pushkin Town.  The palace is named after Catherine I, the wife of Peter the Great, who ruled Russia for two years after her husband's death. 

Tonight, you will have the chance (optional) to enjoy a performance of the classic ballet “Swan Lake” at one of the most famous theatre in Russia: Mariinski Theatre. (The music of “Swan Lake” is made by Chaikovsky).

D7St. Petersburg

Start the day with a visit to St. Petersburg's most popular attraction and one of the largest and most prestigious museums in the world: the Hermitage Museum. It is a must-see for all first-time travellers to the city and is also called “Winter Palace”. With over 3 million items in its collection, you will be impressed by its fascinating treasures.

You will then have the opportunity to discover another museum: the Pushkin Museum and Memorial Apartment, in honor of Russia's most celebrated poet. Also, visit the impressive Cathedral of Lady of Kazan and Church of the Savior on Split Blood
Afterward, you will have free time to stroll around Nevsky Prospekt Street, named one of the most beautiful streets in the world and with plenty of shops, cafes, bars.

Tonight, enjoy a Russian folk show in Nikolaevsky Palace before having dinner. During intermission, there will be a cocktail party where you can taste Caviar, Vodka, and Champagne.

Payment

Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure. Thomas Cook China reserves the right to release all services in case of payment default.

 

Cancellation Policy

If any cancellation is received following a booking, the following general cancellation policy will apply:

  • Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival : 20% of total amount is due
  • Between 20 and 7 days prior to arrival : 50% of total amount is due
  • Between 6 days and 2 day prior to arrival: 75% of total amount is due
  • 1 day or No-show: 100% of total amount is due

Thomas Cook China will not be liable for performance delays or for non-performance, due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, actions by any government authority (whether valid or invalid), fires, floods, windstorms, riots, explosions, natural disasters, wars, sabotage, labor problems (including lockouts, strikes and slowdowns), or court injunction or order.
