Visit Baoguo Temple. It is the largest temple on the Mt. Emei and the starting point for taking a tour of the Mt. Emei. The temple was built during the years of Wanli period in the Ming Dynasty. The whole temple is a typical courtyard house covering an area of more than 10 acres. Each courtyard has one view and the scenery changes as you go deeper and deeper, which makes for a rather spectacular scene. Then visit Fuhu Temple.

In the evening, enjoy some free time and dinner at your leisure in Emei.

Today you will visit Mount Emei.

Take the cable car to the Gold Summit.

The number of Buddhist temples dotted around the mountain is quite impressive but the views from the Gold Summit at an elevation of 3,077 meters above sea level steals the glory. The Gold Summit is a combination of natural wonders and Buddhism spiritualism. The scenery of a red glowing sun dancing over the sea of clouds in the east is fabulous. A few lucky visitors will encounter the Buddhist Light which only occurs 14 times a year. On these occasions, your shadow is cast before you in the mist and a colorfully glowing lights circle you as if you had attained enlightenment.

You will then visit Wannian Temple.  It is one of the eight largest temples on the mountain. It was first built in the in the East Jin Dynasty and was renamed as White Water Puxian Temple after a series of devastation and reconstruction. The temple contains five halls lay in a tier style namely the Mountain Gate, Buddha Miatreya Hall, Brick Hall, Wei'e Treasure Hall and the Treasure Hall of Great Hero.

D3Emei-Leshan-Chengdu

Transfer to Leshan.Visit the Lingyun Temple, and walk around Leshan Giant Buddha.

Leshan Giant Buddha is a huge statue which is carved into the side of Mount Lingyun. The Giant Buddha is about 71 meters high and 24 meters wide. The head is 14.7 meters long and 10 meters wide with in total 1021 buns of hair on it. Each eyebrow is 18 feet long. The instep, which is 8.5 meters wide, can host 100 people. The big toe is large enough to accommodate a dinner table. Taller by 17 meters than the standing Buddha in Afghanistan, the Leshan Giant Buddha is the tallest and largest Buddha in the world. A local saying summarises it as: "The Mountain is a Buddha, the Buddha is a Mountain". Return to Chengdu.

In the morning, transfer to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to see lovely Pandas.

The giant panda is a rare and beloved animal that only inhabits the six major mountain ranges in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces of China. With a population of less than 2000, the species is included on the endangered species list and is considered a national treasure of China. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding was established in March 1987 with the mission to rescue and protect the endangered giant panda species.

Payment

Full payment is due 14 days prior to departure. Thomas Cook China reserves the right to release all services in case of payment default.

 

Cancellation Policy

  • If any cancellation is received following a booking, the following general cancellation policy will apply:
  • Between 30 and 21 days prior to arrival : 20% of total amount is due
  • Between 20 and 7 days prior to arrival : 50% of total amount is due
  • Between 6 days and 2 day prior to arrival: 75% of total amount is due
  • 1 day or No-show: 100% of total amount is due

Thomas Cook China will not be liable for performance delays or for non-performance, due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, actions by any government authority (whether valid or invalid), fires, floods, windstorms, riots, explosions, natural disasters, wars, sabotage, labor problems (including lockouts, strikes and slowdowns), or court injunction or order.
