Breakfast at hotel.

Take a full day tour to explore Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, visit the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum (closed on Mondays and Fridays weekly and from September to November every day) before moving onto his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then explore the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature, which is imbued with the profound philosophies of Confucianism.

After a Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant, In the afternoon, meet a water puppet “magician” who is descended from an impressive seven generations of puppeteers, and enjoy a live show at his house in Hanoi. Here you will have the rare chance to learn how to animate the puppets under water.

You will have a free afternoon to explore Hanoi’s Old Quarter at your leisure.

D3Hanoi – Ha long bay

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel.

Drive through rice paddy fields to Ha Long Bay where several scenes from the James Bond movie “Tomorrow Never Dies” were filmed. Perhaps less well-known, this was also the main location for the film “Indochine”, which won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1993.

Board a premium junk ship for a cruise among Ha Long Bay’s hundreds of islets. Enjoy a seafood lunch on board and a swim (if weather permits). Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay among the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea.

D4Ha Long Bay – Boat Cruise – Hanoi

Enjoy a delightful morning cruise through the picturesque limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay before returning to the dock.

You will then be transferred back to Hanoi.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

A private car at Siem Reap airport will transfer you directly to your hotel for check-in. Lunch will be served at a local Cambodian restaurant.

In the afternoon, you will explore the Khmer temples from the early Angkorian period and visit the Roluos group of temples that date back to the 9th and 10th centuries, including the Preah Ko, Bakong, and Lolei Temples.

You will return to your hotel in the early evening.

D6Siem Reap – Angkor Complex

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.

Today’s tour will take you into Angkor Thom via the Southern Gate to explore the ancient city. Next, visit the ruins of Bayon, Baphuon, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Angkor Wat temple complex and explore its extraordinary architecture, with the opportunity to experience a spectacular sunset view over its iconic silhouette.  This is the filming location for a memorable scene in the Wong Karwai film “In the Mood for Love”.

D7Siem Reap – Banteay Srei – Banteay Samre – Ta Prohm

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.

For a truly unique experience, you may choose the optional Tethered Balloon Ride to take in panoramic views of the ancient Angkor Wat site high above the crowds (please note: this activity is available only if weather permits).

Next, travel by car to visit the graceful 11th century Temple of Shiva – Banteay Srei – and the Banteay Samre Temple. On your way back, swing by the impressive Ta Prohm Temple located in the middle of the jungle with ancient trees growing within and above its majestic stones. A scene from the movie “Tomb Raider” featuring popular Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was filmed at this site.

In the afternoon, you will travel to a local monastery to meet the resident monks and participate in a private good luck blessing ceremony performed by local monks to wish you good health and a safe journey.

The ceremony takes place as you are seated on a mat while the monks chant blessings and sprinkle holy water on you – a traditional ritual which is believed to pass on the blessings of the gods. Afterwards, a sacred thread will be tied around your wrist to protect you from any evil spirits and misfortunes. An uplifting and memorable experience.

After a long day of climbing around temple ruins, it is time to reward yourself with a rejuvenating one-hour traditional Khmer or foot massage.

Dinner will be served at a local Cambodian restaurant, with a live Khmer Apsara Traditional Dance performance.
